Bovem the Runner

Anomaly Report: File No. 1
Anomaly Name: Bovem
Anomaly Research Center Diagnosis:
Terminating Bovem would not only disrupt planetary stability but also endanger all living organisms. The anomaly utilizes an outsider-created device to accelerate to near-light speed, making interception both hazardous and nearly impossible. Our best course of action is continuous observation while ensuring Bovem remains in motion at all costs.
Detective’s Notes:
Our investigation confirms that Bovem is not an artificial entity but a biological lifeform capable of running at light speed. Every 1,000 years, he halts momentarily to refuel his device, with blood, resulting in the deaths of over half the planet’s population and causing a measurable deceleration in planetary rotation.
Bovem’s origins trace back to a now-extinct species known as Homo terradians, a close relative of Homo sapiens. His species once thrived in subterranean mountain complexes lined with icy, superconductive materials, displaying technological advancements superior in some aspects to early human civilizations, though less diverse. Their extinction coincided with the arrival of an unknown outsider, which eradicated most of their population.
A young Bovem, along with a handful of survivors, pursued the outsider. Records suggest that during this pursuit, Bovem acquired a teleportation device. Tracking its energy signature indicates he was transported to the Dark Alley, a desolate void likely used for rapid exterminations. Simulations suggest that upon arrival, Bovem suffered severe injuries, including the loss of an arm. However, the device unexpectedly reactivated, converting him into a pure energy form.
Our working hypothesis is that Bovem eventually found his way back to Earth, still searching for the outsider. Each time he materializes to refuel, the immense strain causes his body to swell grotesquely, his flesh bloated and drenched in blood. With each cycle, he grows larger, heavier, and closer to death. If not for the device instantly converting him back into energy, he would perish. However, when he stops to refuel, the resulting impact is equivalent to a meteorite strike, posing a significant existential threat to our species.
Objective:
Bovem is no longer just an anomaly but a looming catastrophe. Immediate containment is required to prevent a planetary-scale disaster.
